I have a special interest in the nervous system and yoga to support women's health - building strength, and increasing flexibility and mobility to better support us in life. The nervous system is an intricate network that controls every aspect of our physical function, neuroscience gives us the tools to more accurately assess, identify, and target key areas of the nervous system that impact movement, athletic performance, pain, and daily functioning – helping to manage pain, move better, feel better and live better!
I’ve always loved moving my body. I found yoga at a time of my life when I needed a distraction, something to quieten the mind and connect to my body and my soul. After going to classes on and off for around 10 years, I finally started to understand that there was so much more to yoga than I first thought.
I started a journey of self-learning as I wanted to know more about Yoga and in 2023, I decided to do my first teacher training. It was only then that I realised the power of this ancient practice and ever since, my personal practice and teachings have evolved. I now hold space for yoga, movement, mediation and breathwork. I am fascinated by the incredible power Yoga has to heal, nourish and restore us as we connect with the body and its energies to align the breath with the mind, body and soul.
WHY WILD YOGA?
I took a long time deciding on the name. I wanted something that embodied my style of teaching. I chose Wild Yoga as I love blending those more traditional poses of yoga with somatic based movement - moving with full-body awareness, focusing on feeling into the body and connecting the mind to the body and the breath. I love creating new yoga and movement classes centred around the yoga asanas (poses) but also bringing a bit of playfulness to the mat. I also chose the name as I love to take my classes outside in the warmer months, last Summer I held sunrise yoga sessions on Penarth Cliff Top which were grounding and energising both at the same time!
